Client Success Stories
Welcome to Neurofeedback Services Of New York. We understand the importance of feeling and performing your best. We also understand the distress that psychological struggles can bring about in your life. At Neurofeedback Services of New York we believe every individual possesses a powerful capability to grow.
Our clinic is a full service neurofeedback therapy center where we provide state of the art brain-based assessments and training therapies for all ages. Located on the Upper West side of Manhattan our practice offers one of the most comprehensive arrays of neurofeedback services in the metropolitan area.
As the field of modern neuroscience continues to advance, we discover more and more about the natural flexibility and learning capacities of the brain. Once thought to be a fixed organ, the brain is actually able to consistently learn, adapt, and change in ways we never thought possible! With the use of cutting-edge neuro-technologies, including ISF Neurofeedback Training and QEEG brain mapping, we are able to help clients train their minds to operate in ways that better serve them. By focusing on the client’s needs, we are able to strengthen areas of dysregulation, break habitual thought and emotional patterns, and bring a sense of equilibrium to a person’s life.
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, brain-based biofeedback intervention that trains the brain to function in healthier, more efficient ways. With the assistance of a trained clinician, neurofeedback therapy allows an individual to engage the brain’s innate capability to self-regulate and optimize itself. Over time, dysregulation is corrected leading to improved cognitive function, greater emotional stability, and increased quality of sleep.
Neurofeedback and brain map training provide relief for a range of conditions such as Anxiety, Trauma, ADHD, Autism, Migraines, sleep disorders, Depression, OCD, and Addiction. In addition to the above, our specialties also include diverse issues such as Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and Dementia. In addition to symptom-based concerns, neurofeedback has long been used as a tool for peak performance training.
At Neurofeedback Services Of New York we conduct in-depth neuro-assessments of all our clients. We perform comprehensive QEEG brain maps that allow us to peer inside the brain and analyze the different frequency patterns within each region. The QEEG colorfully illuminates areas of the brain that may be over or under activated, possibly contributing to various symptoms within the mind and body.
The staff here are very professional and respectable. They are well trained and experts in both Neurofeedback and conventional talk therapy. I recommend this to anyone that is looking for a well-rounded treatment regimen to treat their condition.
Douglas MansellIn my opinion, Mark Smith and his staff should be the first call for treatment of ADD, ADHD, ODD, depression, anxiety, trauma and migraines. He is kind and patient, not to mention very well trained and overall a great clinician. I have used Mark as a resource several times in my own practice. If you are in or near the city and have any interest or questions regarding neurofeedback, I would highly recommend reaching out to Mark before you go anywhere else.
Andrew BuccaroI have known Mark Smith as a clinician and instructor for fifteen years. He is open, candid, and professionally dynamic. An intensely knowledgeable practitioner, he has managed to develop a unique form of treatment and neurofeedback training that has been shown to achieve splendid results. He is intellectually honest and persistently refines his knowledge and techniques. His willingness to work with clients with complicated and chronic problems that other professionals have been unable to help is a testament to his dedication, determination, and compassion.
David PavlickI found Mark Smith through my training with renowned clinician and researcher Bessel van der Kolk. Neurofeedback has changed my life radically. My basic body functions have improved and I've become a far more regulated person. Aside from having far less anxiety, my sleep has radically changed, I used to toss and turn for hours and now I'm asleep within a minute, maybe two. Training with Mark and his colleagues has been an opportunity I feel exceptionally lucky to have, and would recommend it to anyone who has the privilege of working with him. While much of technology is making us go too fast or creating new addictions, to cell phones, computers, etc- Neurofeedback is a balancing force that is uses technology to help us connect with our bodies. I feel so much more in control of health, my body and my life.
Fazeelat AslamI can tell you that I am a completely different person in all the best ways possible. To those who "poo poo" this, you have no idea how much better your life could be. Depression is almost non existent. I feel like a new person.
Jessica BernI love this practice, it has been extremely helpful in many ways. I have been going through so many challenges in my life and i have been in and out of different therapy. With everything i have been through in my life i believe that Mark Smith and Neurofeedback have been the only things that have truly worked. Mark is a very funny, lovable enthusiastic person with an outstanding personality. Anyone would be lucky to work with him and his practice.
